One member of the Sock Monkeys- Ben Sawyer- has cut ALL of his hair off! It is a big deal for him, and the team. We asked him various questions before, during, and after the appointment. 1. Are you nervous?: Not particularly. 2. Is this one of the most exciting things that has happened to you this school year yet?: No.. well. Yes. I haven't done a lot of things this year yet. ...And other various questions.. but I (Molly) was home sick today so I didn't have a chance to grab him this morning before he left for Jazz Band. It's okay though! I'll upload the photos today and put a video up later. :) In other news, Logan is a balancing monkey.

I thought I would just let you know that robotics made it to State! After a counting mistake made on accident, we were in the top 7 of the teams selected to make an alliance in the finals. We were 6th out of 7 and then we were asked by the 5th ranked team to be an alliance. We graciously accepted and we won our first match! We were then against the number one team from Knoxville: Insurmountable Toast. They and Recharged Green won against us. Because we lost, that meant only winning awards could send us on. My and Gillian Gross's Business plan won us the "2014-2015 Corning League Championship Think Award" and because we were finalists we were awarded the "2014-2015 Corning League Championship Finalist Alliance" award. We also came in 2nd place for the Inspire award and we were nominated for nearly every other award. It was overall a great experience and judging went really well, especially with half of our team being first year robotics kids! We're excited to be going to State again! We would also like to ask the community to donate Windows based laptops and desktops to the robotics team. The high school address is 1816 North 3rd Street and we have robotics Monday-Friday 3:30-5:30.
